Our Programs
At Nurturing Journeys, we offer more than services; we offer safe, empowering spaces where youth can grow, learn, and prepare for independent living. Our programs are designed to meet the real needs of young adults aging out of foster care.
Supervised Independent Living (SIL) Housing
We provide a safe, structured, and nurturing housing environment for youth ages 18–22 who are aging out of the foster care system. Residents learn to manage day-to-day responsibilities while having access to guidance, structure, and emotional support.
What’s included:
Safe and fully furnished living space
Support with goal setting and accountability
Case management and check-ins
Transportation coordination as needed
Access to life coaching and mentorship
Life Skills Training & Mentorship
We help youth build the skills needed to thrive in adulthood, not just survive.
Topics include:
Budgeting & money management
Meal planning & cooking
Job readiness & resume building
Healthy relationships & boundaries
Self-care & emotional regulation
Our mentors and facilitators walk alongside each youth, helping them grow in confidence, character, and capability.
Supportive Community & Emotional Wellness
Healing happens in the community. We create safe spaces where youth can process their past, connect with others, and build a support network. Whether through workshops, group sessions, or one-on-one check-ins, our youth are never walking this journey alone.
The Path to Independence
Each young person receives an individualized success plan to guide their transition. We help them take real steps toward:
Securing employment or higher education
Accessing transportation or ID documents
Building long-term housing stability
Reconnecting with trusted adults or mentors
Did You Know?
In the state of Texas, youth who age out of foster care are eligible to attend state-supported colleges and universities tuition-free through the Texas Tuition and Fee Waiver.
We help our youth understand their eligibility, apply, and enroll so they can pursue their dreams without the burden of student debt.
